Victoria Mutual continues to maintain its sponsorship of a number of activities that not only generate national appeal and pride, but continue to have a significant impact on youth and community development, the promotion of character building, family life and, by extension, social stability in our nation.

Scholarships, Bursaries & Grants

Scholarships, Bursaries and grants are awarded annually to GSAT students, students pursuing tertiary studies and teachers who have the desire to upgrade their skills in order to serve our children better. Many Jamaicans, have benefited from our Scholarships and Grants Program.

Victoria Mutual Community Scholarship AwardsThe VMBS GSAT ‘Head-Start’ Bursary is awarded to the top saver in each of the schools that participate in VM Save2Grow School Savings Programme. This is open to students in preparatory, primary and all-age schools across the island. The VMBS Junior Plan ‘Head-Start’ Scholarshipis awarded to the three top GSAT ‘Junior Plan’ savers, (one from each county) to assist with their secondary-level education.

Other scholarships at the youth level are the VMBS Future Plan "Head-Start" Scholarship, which has a 3-year tenure is awarded to three VMBS "Future Plan" savers towards local tertiary education and the VMBS Master Plan "Head-Start" Scholarship, which is awarded to one "Master Plan" saver pursuing studies final year studies at a local university.

The VM Teachers' Bursary dates back to 1987, where two teachers were given awards to complete their first degree. The Bursary is awarded to teachers pursuing final-year studies at a local tertiary institution and who are members of the Jamaica Teachers' Association (JTA).
